Through POSCO Australia, the POSCO group procured around 50% of the raw materials required for its global steel production from Australia. POSCO Australia holds interests in a number of Australian based iron ore and coal projects. To ensure continued supply of raw materials for their steel production, POSCO is embarking on a new era of growth in Australia with the aim of developing their own Australian metallurgical coal operations.

To champion and lead the development of their greenfields projects, POSCO seeks a Technical Coal Consultant for a newly created role in their Sydney office.

In this exciting new opportunity, you will be responsible for the management of exploration programs, overview of project development from an owner's perspective, due diligence and project evaluation, and ongoing reviews for existing Australian investments. Working closely with POSCO Australia's executive team, this is a unique role to utilise your broad technical and management experience in significant Australian coal projects with a successful international steel company.

This opportunity is Sydney based with occasional project based travel as required. An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience is provided along with extensive opportunities to progress your career with the rapid expansion of POSCO Australia.

As the successful candidate, you will be a tertiary qualified mining engineer with a successful track record in project development and operations appointments within the Australian coal industry.
