A leading project and services organisation is experiencing a high demand from its clients to engineer and deliver major projects in the mining and energy sector. As a direct result, a requirement has arisen for a Project Manager to join their well-established team on an exciting overseas opportunity. The most important element of this role is to direct and coordinate the activities of each area critical to the delivery of a major project and achieving the desired outcomes. Whilst the preparation of reports, financial budgeting and forecasting and client meetings is part and parcel of the role, it is the ability to successfully manage and supervise a senior team, understand and appreciate the challenge of getting staff to work well together and ensure that they are all geared towards the same objective that is the standout characteristic. Key responsibilities: - Determine the scope and size of the project and the individual requirements for each stage
- Coordination of each separate activity and component of a large scale project
- Resolve critical problems related to the timeliness of project schedules
- Reporting on financial and program objectives to senior management
- Supervision of project service and equipment suppliers
- Ensure sound systems and procedures
- Risk management
- Overall HSE concerns and assure compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Quality control and assurance
Key competences: - Experience in managing the full life cycle of projects and services between $200M-$5B
- Management of work in the mining or closely related industries
- Experience in overseas projects
- Excellent time management, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability
- Understanding what needs to be done to meet strict deadlines
- Management training/qualifications will be viewed favourable
