My client is an ASX Top 300 Mining Company with an Australian based flagship project. As their tenements are coming online, the company is undergoing significant change and growth and, through this growth, they have had an opportunity open up for a Financial Controller to join them during this exciting phase of growth.
Job Description
The role is a developmental one as follows:
- Reporting into the CFO, run the day to day finance activities of the company, including hands on and supervisory work over the management and financial accounting, as well as any ad hoc projects.
- Manage a small team, and grow with this team as the duties increase with the operational scope
- Run and develop the Pronto accounting system for the Finance Function, in coordination with the CFO and the Finance team
- Assist in growing and developing the finance team and systems remit as the major infrastructure comes online for the company's flagship project, sometime in 2011.
- Mentor and guide the team and develop them as new duties come online through this expansion
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate shall possess the following:
- Well established base knowledge of hands on accounting, with some informal management exposure.
- Rounded skill-set of both management and financial accounting
- Strong exposure to Pronto and Excel systems
- Qualified CA / CPA accountant, ideally a candidate looking to make the next step to an FC role.
- Exposure in Mining and Resources and the desire to work autonomously are essential.
- Any exposure to Large Commodity assets and Head Office exposure is also highly regarded.
